Step1: With the error on the screen, Press "Shift + F10" to open the Command
Prompt. Step2: In the command prompt window type "taskmgr.exe" (without the quotes) and hit enter to bring up the Task Manager. Step3: When the Task Manager comes up terminate the error message by selecting the error message from under the Applications tab and clicking on End Task and then End. Note: If this does not end the task in the Applications tab, you will then have to go to the Processes tab and end the UnRegmp2.exe process which identifies the error message and click End Process to terminate the process. Step4: You may have to click End Process repeatedly until the error message is gone. Step5: Once you confirm that the task is no longer listed, type "exit" in the Command Prompt and press Enter. Setp6: Continue with the install. The installation will proceed without any problems. Do this whenever the error message comes up during the Installation phase and the installation will proceed without any problems. Note: When you open Windows Media Player after getting back to Windows you will get the same error message that you got during the Repair install. So inorder to resolve this issue please download and install the latest version of MDAC, which is MDAC 2.8.
