The subject has it in a nutshell, really. If XP Service Pack 2 is
assigned to a computer object via group policy in AD (using update.msi), and that computer already has SP2 installed, what will happen? Will GP try to reinstall it with the 'correct' one, will it realise that SP2 is already installed and not try to do anything, or will something nasty crop up? |

The UPDATE.MSI file is just a wrapper that launches the SP installer in
silent mode. You can find out what would happen by running the SP installer on a machine that already has SP2 applied - the same behavior would apply to UPDATE.MSI. -- Mike Kolitz MCSE 2000 MS-MVP - Windows Setup / Deployment "Joe Bloggs" <Created_Just_To_Register_With_Google_Groups@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ada5e64c.0409130759.c2cefaf@posting.google.com... > The subject has it in a nutshell, really.
