Hi
Try this: After the next restart, keep tapping the F8 key to see if you can access a screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as an option - try that. Failing that, try to access the same screen again, this to try a System Restore via Safe Mode. -- Will Denny MVP - Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "taylor" <danzig22066@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:11aa01c49998$44511620$a301280a@phx.gbl... > when i log into my windows xp, i can't see anything, i > can't even see the log in screen, i just type in my > password blind. Hi
If you can't access 'Last Known good Configuration' or Safe Mode, you'll have to look towards a 'Repair' install of XP. Your programs, files settings should remain intact. One drawback to this method is that the Windows Updates will have to be re-downloaded/re-installed: "How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install" http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm -- Will Denny MVP - Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "taylor" <danzig22066@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:11fc01c4999a$99484480$a301280a@phx.gbl... > thanks for the help, however, neither of them worked, the > sane problem still occurs, any more tips? >>-----Original Message----- >>Hi >> >>Try this: >> >>After the next restart, keep tapping the F8 key to see if > you can access a >>screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as an > option - try that. >>Failing that, try to access the same screen again, this > to try a System >>Restore via Safe Mode. >> >>-- >> >>Will Denny >>MVP - Windows Shell/User >>Please reply to the News Groups >> >> >>"taylor" <danzig22066@hotmail.com> wrote in message >>news:11aa01c49998$44511620$a301280a@phx.gbl... >>> when i log into my windows xp, i can't see anything, i >>> can't even see the log in screen, i just type in my >>> password blind. Hi
If you can't access either, nor can you boot normally into Windows, then a 'Repair' install will be needed. -- Will Denny MVP - Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "taylor" <danzig22066@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:12aa01c4999d$e9f80fc0$a501280a@phx.gbl... > hi, > i can access the safe mode and last known good > configuration, and i tried both, but problem has not been > fixed, do you still recommend a repair install?
