No booting with SP2 upgrade XP professional

I installed the SP2 upgrade and could not boot into windows. So I uninstalled
SP2 using safe mode command line spuninst.exe. I then redownloaded SP2 and
reinstalled it. The computer failed to boot up again. For the second
uninstallation I used the XP cd under recover mode using batch spuninst.txt.
Now the computer doesnt boot at all and the safe mode doesnt work either. It
just keeps booting over and over again. I really dont know what do now beside
a full reinstall of XP. If anybody could help me with this I'd appreciate it.
I have an AMD Athlon 3200 64 bit with an nvidia 5950 video card.
