Files corrupted after SP2Load

I have multiple files that are now corrupted after I have
loaded the SP2 update. For example setting for one of
users under XP are completely gone. msg says to
chkdsk... Should I just back SP2 out and forget it? I'm
getting msgs that other files are corrupted too
