When I put a USB flash drive in the USB port, the system
recognizes it, but it assigns a drive that is already assigned to another device. Then I have to go to disk management to change the drive before I can use it. Is there some way to have it automatically go to an unused drive letter? |

Do you happen to have a Network Share mapped as the next
letter and then plugged in your USB Device. That would cause the USB Device to be assigned the same drive letter. The workaround would be to not assign a drive letter to the next available letter, but move it up a few. -Hawkens >-----Original Message----- >When I put a USB flash drive in the USB port, the system >recognizes it, but it assigns a drive that is already >assigned to another device.
