Reinstall halts

Default Reinstall halts


Trying to reinstall WinXP because my System Restore became corrupt and
disappeared from My Computer/Properties. System halts with error message:
unregmp2.exe - Entry Point Not Found
Verbage in box is:
The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic
link library MSDART.DLL.

How might I get around this long enough to backup some files. Then I'll
just format the drive and reinstall the system?

Try reinstalling the latest version of the Microsoft Data Access Components
(MDAC); your current installation may be corrupted:
