Default Win XP Pro install problems

I recently tried installing Windows XP Pro over my Windows XP Home; however,
after the error free install i am unable to log into windows. When booting,
my computer will go to the Windows XP Pro loading screen however after that
is complete my screen just goes black and no further processes begin. If
anyone has had this problem before or knows how to solve this issue id love
to hear from you.

Thanks for your time.
