Default Standby -mode does not work

The "Stand By" option is greyed out and does not work
after installing xp prof on a brand new Asus Mother board
with PIII 3.GHZ precessor. What shall I do to enable the
function. Thanks dhw

MM, trouble - btw, P3@3GHz?
Go Device Manager/Computer and see what Hal.dll version you have; might be
"Standard PC" "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" etc. See what you get and take it
from there.
