Hello,
I have bought and asasembled a new computer. It is a custom made, but I am trying to install XP Home onto it. I have looked and looked around everywhere for instructions on how to install it, but i cant find anything. Anyway, I have set everything up and now I am trying to install XP Home onto it. It load's it text-baised installer, and It starts loading the drivers and whatever, F.Y.I. the HD is blank. and it gets to the part where it says, "Set-up is starting Windows," and it sits for about 10 seconds, and then it restarts. What am I doing wrong, and how Do I fix it??? |

Hello, Again
I haev already read this and I have checked all of this and it still doesn't make any difference. I am using an XP disk that I bought with my old computer until the MB blew up. Does that help? >-----Original Message----- >Windows XP Does Not Respond at "Setup Is Starting Windows XP" Message >http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;310760&Product=winxp > >-- >Carey Frisch >Microsoft MVP >Windows XP - Shell/User > >Be Smart! If your old computer came with Windows XP preinstalled,
then you probably have a Restore CD that will only work with the original computer it came with. It is probably searching for a specific BIOS and if it is not the original BIOS, it will not install. If that's the case, you'll need to go out and purchase a conventional "Full Version" of Windows XP. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows XP - Shell/User Be Smart!
