I recently cloned one of our Windows XP Pro SP1 Systems. I
have done this many times before with no problems. However, this time during the sysprep install it kept asking for the cd. Then when the sysprep install was completed, I tried to log in as the admin and got the following error Windows Product Activation A Problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80090006 If anyone could give me any advice or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. |

Possible Resolution:
Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter. Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again. Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered. Also review: Visit http://www.mcse.ms/message45251.html for troubleshooting suggestions. Carey,
Thank you for the advice but it didn't work. I have found the problem however and again need a work around. The problem is that after running the sysprep install my drive letter changes from E:\ to C:\ I have attempted a fix that I found in the knowledge base but it onlty made matters worse. Any advice? >-----Original Message----- >Possible Resolution: > >Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter. >Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again. > >Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered. > >Also review: > >Visit http://www.mcse.ms/message45251.html for troubleshooting >suggestions. > >Error Message Cites License-Checking Issue After Upgrade >http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;310794 > >-- >Carey Frisch >Microsoft MVP >Windows XP - Shell/User > >Be Smart!
