Hello, I got a problem with XP: when i try to make a new
installation on a existing one, the new one does not
delete the old data. I think it does not even format the
hard disk at all and i need it cause i got a virus some
day ago. Do someone knows anyting about this?

Thank u in advance

Hi Antonio

Which virus did your system have? You may not have to 'clean' install XP - a 'repair' install may help. In either case the two following articles by MVP Michael Stevens will help you:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

"Clean Install Windows XP"

Hi buddy,

you have to first format the drive using the original disk.

This option is at setup. Of course you will lose all saved
data.

Scan any backups for viruses before installing them.
