Hi Antonio
Which virus did your system have? You may not have to 'clean' install XP - a 'repair' install may help. In either case the two following articles by MVP Michael Stevens will help you: "How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install" http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm "Clean Install Windows XP" http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html -- Will Denny MS-MVP Windows Shell/User "Antonio_vasapollo@libero.it" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:413a01c42b68$67739e00$a401280a@phx.gbl... > Hello, I got a problem with XP: when i try to make a new > installation on a existing one, the new one does not > delete the old data. Hi buddy,
you have to first format the drive using the original disk. This option is at setup. Of course you will lose all saved data. Scan any backups for viruses before installing them. >-----Original Message----- >Hello, I got a problem with XP: when i try to make a new >installation on a existing one, the new one does not >delete the old data.
