Default Password release

My computer recently crashed after installing new
hardware. I tried to repair "windowsxp" but was
unsuccessful. I have since reinstalled "windowsxp" into a
new folder however some of my files that i require are
still in the old system of which my login requires a
password. I know the password but i do not know how to
give it to the computer because when i try to open the
required folder it tells me that "access is denied". How
can i release the password from this folder?
