wish id never installed windows updates

i installed my windows updates last night apparantly i needeed 44
this is a new computer!!!!!!!
after 6 1/2 hrs i was still sat u
then weird things started happening like my aim or msn wouldnt stay connected although my comp said i was still connecte
and my password change
then i couldnt get connected at al
after several retsorations and an un-install re-install of the modem i finally got back her
am too scared to switch my comp off again as last time i did i got VJVIEW ERROR---could not execute main, system cannot find file. can any1 tell me what this means plz?
