Okay, so here goes: I'm looking at mp3 players, and really like the ipod from apple, which uses a firewire connection. The problem is I have a laptop with only a USB port and no firewire (IEEE 1394) connection, which means that I can't connect the ipod to my computer.
My question: Is there any way for me to get a converter between USB and firewire? I've seen some external hard drives that have both connections - maybe I could plug the USB into my computer and the firewire into the mp3 player? Any help is wonderful. Thanks. |

I'm not aware of any USB > Firewire convertor, but if the laptop has some PCMCIA ports, you can get some Firewire ports that way

From what i can tell you can get a docking station for the ipod and a USB lead that will plug into that
