Default About Driver Signing

Our company is a manufacturer of medical devices, some of our products can
connect to PC via USB connection.

We use an USB chip in our device made by our vender to transfer UART signal
to USB 1.0. They also provide the

driver of this chip and I include the driver installation procedure in our
PC software setup.

However, customers complain that they get warning message when install the
software on their Windows XP PC.

I know this message is coming out because the driver didn't pass the WHQL
testing so no driver signing on this

driver. I want this driver be driver-singed to avoid the waning message come
out.

I 've several questions for the Driver Signing and WHQL.

1. This driver is not written by our company (It's provided by vender), Can
I send the driver for WHQL testing?
2. Is this drive a WHQL-class or non- WHQL- class?
3. If this driver pass WHQL testing and we have right to use "Designed for
windows XP logo". Can I use this logo

on every model of device that use this chip?
4. How long does it take to pass the WHQL testing and get the logo?
5. How much money we need to spend to pass the WHQL test?
