Default Logon password protected files

After dowloading the latest updates for windows xp my
computer wouldn't load windows. I can't even acces it
through safemode. My question is "How do I get my
daughters files from the computer when it says access
denied, because they were password protected. I installed
windows xp on my second hard drive in the same computer
and can get at all the files but can't open her file.

Default Re: Logon password protected files

Unfortunately you can't easily retrieve EFS encrypted files,
unless you've prepared for this beforehead (created a password recovery
floppy).
Call a professional data recovery service or fix the system so you can logon
as admin.
