In Dec. I purchased a few albums from WalMart. Everything was fine. I backed
up my license file. I had a problem with my computer and had to reinstall/repair the XP, after which I was required to reinstall many programs. None of my purchased music will play now, says I need a license. I restored the license file from my back-up, and I called WalMart Music customer service, they said that they reset the licenses. I could still not get the licenses. Thinking it was perhaps a WalMart problem, I purchased an album from MSN Music. When I try to play the songs I am asked if I wish to purchase or if I own it already. When I click that I own it I get "acquiring license" then "license download complete, play your song" HOWEVER "play" button is not activated and status in Media Player 10 still indicates "Acquiring License" and seems to just hang there. I have tried iTunes player with the same results (or maybe it was MusicMatch, whichever one goes out for the license, the other just said license was needed) I have turned off firewall and anti-virus software. Anyone out there have any other suggestions? |

Wouldn't it be easier to simply refuse to buy music if it has "terms of use,
etc." bs attached to it? I only pay for something I have in my hand and can use as I see fit, seems absurd to me to do otherwise. Try to download the file again if you still have the right to do so. Usually
backing up and restoring is not enough. Sometimes, you have to contact the licensing centre from microsoft and agree to the terms in order to redownload again the licenses. "Wendy" wrote: > In Dec. I know that this post is fairly old, but I am having the exact same problems.
I have tried Walmart and Napster and MSN. Every time I try to purchase and download a song I get a "license" error. I have narrowed it down to something with my firewall or security center will not allow the websites to push the information through, however I do not know how to fix it. If anyone has any suggestions I really could use the help. "Wendy" wrote: > In Dec. I purchased a few albums from WalMart. Everything was fine. I backed > up my license file.
