windows media player 9 and 10 play back sound distortions

Hi
I have just upgraded from ME to XP and play back on all audio media in media
players 9 and 10 is distorted (crackling like static) This get worse when I
move the mouse pointer and especially when visulisation are playing.

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?

Next time read some of the previous posts, you may find the answer there, now.

im reading through all these right now, i dont see Cari's. Can someone
