I have purchased Roxio Creator 7 to burn my tapes onto CD's and I have no
problem recording them other then I cannot for some reason adjust my record volume level. When I download them and play back it sounds like it was recording in full volume. I have been into all the controls and reset all levels except the "record volume" and it won't let me move the slide bar to adjust the volume. I've read EVERY help menu and troubleshooting menu in my computer. If anyone knows what the problem could be PLEASE help me. |

This page describes, with pictures, how to set things up using Roxio version 5.0: http://users.bigpond.net.au/lionelsite/exercise_29.htm If that doesn't help, try searching Roxio support here: http://www.roxio.com/en/support/index.jhtml Sorry I couldn't be more helpful- I've never used Roxio for ripping from cassette. I use the free version of MusicMatch Jukebox for vinyl and cassette ripping, as described here: http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,17663,00.asp and here: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/1316/ Regards, Ian. |

Are you using just the Roxio record adjustments..? Have you tried the
windows controls..? Or both.. Hi Nick
Thanks for answering. Yes I have tried every control that I could possibly find. Roxie and windows. It will tell you on both of them where to go to set the controls and how to do it but it won't let me set the record volume and it's recording FULL volume. If you can imagine someone with hair down to their waist and standing on end all over their head? Well that would be me! LOL For over a solid week I have been trying to figure this out. When it is recording of course I can hear the sound on my stero and on my pc speakers which sounds fine. When I play the recording back you can tell that it was recorded in full volume. I'm at wits ends and if you have a solution or suggestion short of blowing the computer up, I would really be grateful. Thanks Again "Nick Burns" wrote: > Are you using just the Roxio record adjustments..? Have you tried the > windows controls..? Thank You for answering Ionizer. I will check out those sites again. I have
a ton of tapes I would love to be able to burn. When I am recording it sounds fine, through my speakers on my stero as well as on my PC speakers. But when I got to play it back you can tell that it was recorded in Full Volume. Like when you turn your stero up to load and you know it's way over the margin that it should be. I can't figure out why it will let me adjust everything from Volume control to Telephone rings and won't let me adjust the record volume. Has my head spinning. I appreciate your feed back. If you can think of anything else I would be willing to give it a try. Thank You Kindly "Ionizer" wrote: > "Boscorina" <Boscorina@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:8C8C8E62-C4CC-4357-BDEF-41FDC49696C4@microsoft.com... > > I have purchased Roxio Creator 7 to burn my tapes onto CD's and I have > no > > problem recording them other then I cannot for some reason adjust my > record > > volume level. Hello Nick
I have a cable hooked into my stero in the output jacks running to the computer and plugged into the Mic port in my computer. My mixer device is a VIA AC'97 Enhanced. Don't know if that means anything or not but that's the only option it gives me. I'm a dummy when it comes to knowing the internal parts of the computer that makes it click. When something isn't available for options it's normally grayed out isn't it? My recording volume control isn't, it just won't let me adjust it. Spent 3 hours going through all the steps of Roxio yesterday to no avail. It must be something in my Windows is all I can figure. Again Thanks for your help. In the dark days when I was using AC'97, I remember a setting in Options to
display Recording Panel. In other words, the recording settings are not available unless you enable them to be displayed. Options can be accessed either through Sound Mgt. in Control Panel or from the applet in the Task Bar. Good Morning Michael
Thanks for the reply. Still to no avail I have been into the control panel and checked to enable the record volume and it still will not let me slide the volume control. It's probably something so simple that it makes it complicated. Thanks again for your reply. If you are plugged into the mic port on the pc, then you have to use the mic
slider, their are two of them one for input and one for output. (the windows ones). Its not the mic slider that first comes up when you dub click the little speaker at the bottom right. If you can't find it post back.
