Default CDRW wont burn with XP

My ACER CDRW was working fine under Windows 2000.
When I went to Windows XP Home edition, it has trouble
burning music CD's. It appears to still burn data OK, but
music CD's must be burned at slow speeds and many still
have skips and/or clicks.

Is XP that different?
Any ideas how to correct?
