Default computer shuts off for no reason

When I'm ripping a CD, or converting music or video
files, and sometimes burning a CD, my computer just shuts
itself off for no reason! I have downloaded a lot of
different programs that rip, burn, or convert, but the
problem happens with all of them. I have a new computer,
AMD 2000, 512 ram. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

if yer using xp, then use windows media 9 burning, i've
found this works as well as any other ones, you may have
a conflict with the other software you installed.

Default Re: computer shuts off for no reason

Have you come across any solutions to this yet? I have a similar problem
with my XP machine (AMD 1600, 512 ram) just randomly shutting itself off. I
have been able to trace it to happen only when Windows Media Player is
playing MP3's. But it's not consistent, sometimes it'll go for hours without
a problem, then the next day it may shut down within 5-10 minutes.
