hello,
i have a digital camera that also does video. it takes good pictures and video while in great light. night time outside or low light areas is terrible. i looked through the sale papers and then went to web sites like sony and samsung to attempt to learn more about the features that will help taking night time or low light video. i don't understand much of what i read. i was wondering if there are any models (less than $600) that have features or a built-in light that will allow might time or low light video to look somewhat decent. my current camera stores video on an sd card. none of the digital camcorder models i looked at mention what the video is stored on. what am i missing? is 10x optical/120x digital zoom good? not that i really understand it <smile> any help would be greatly appreciated in researching a new digital camcorder. thank you. -- Indera * * * * * * * * * * Don't just live life. Hello,
Some digital video cameras have a special low light function. For example, check out some of these cameras that fit your needs. There are reviews for many of these cameras (go to the Camcorders section) at: http://www.review-center.com Good discount pricing (usually with free shipping), plus you can save quite a bit by not having to pay sales tax on Internet orders (unless you live in WA): 1) This one's a mini-DV: Sony DCRHC40 MiniDV Digital Handycam Camcorder (about $520) http://camcorders.review-center.com...ASIN=B0001BVHL4 2) Here's another excellent Sony camcorder with low light function: http://camcorders.review-center.com...ASIN=B0001MAB06 (about $600) 3) Canon ZR-80 Mini DV http://camcorders.review-center.com...ASIN=B0001ANT9S (about $295) Not quite as good as the others, but the price is low. 10x optical /120x digital zoom is pretty standard on cameras at this price level. Hope this helps! -Scott "Dr. Indera" <dr.indera.bugoff@cant.spam.me> wrote in message news:<OPijbhapEHA.324@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl>... > hello, > > i have a digital camera that also does video. it takes good pictures and > video while in great light. > night time outside or low light areas is terrible. > > i looked through the sale papers and then went to web sites like sony and > samsung to attempt to learn more about the features that will help taking > night time or low light video. > i don't understand much of what i read. i was wondering if there are any > models (less than $600) that have features or a built-in light that will > allow might time or low light video to look somewhat decent. > > my current camera stores video on an sd card. none of the digital camcorder > models i looked at mention what the video is stored on. what am i missing? > > is 10x optical/120x digital zoom good? not that i really understand it > <smile> > > any help would be greatly appreciated in researching a new digital > camcorder. > thank you. |

hi scott,
thank you for the links. after reading the reviews on the sony DCRHC40 and DVD201, the majority of people that reviewed these models had a complaint about the noise that the camcorder makes while recording and that it is picked up on the tape. i will review other models on the site. this site is very helpful. thank you. -- Indera * * * * * * * * * * Don't just live life.
