I downloaded 40 MBs of movie players to view this one
multi-part mpg i downloaded from a newsgroup. I downloaded and decoded each part of the mpg file successfully with Xnews and saved it to disk. The file is not currupted and all parts are there. Windows Media Player9 error says "Class factory cannot supply requested class". Quicktime says "could not open file because it is not a file quicktime understands" DivX says "Failed to open file. Please check that it is a valid AVI or MPEG-4 file." All players are the latest up-to-date free versions. What does a guy need to look at a simple mpeg file? My webtv can play mpegs for cryin out loud! |

If you downloaded the mpg from a newsgroup, there's a good chance it's
damaged... Try downloading it again... Also... When you decoded the file segments, did you tell it to join them into one file?
