Default video quits at start up

After installation was complete and the pc restarted.
The xp logo comes up but when xp begins to start I lose
all video. This is on a HP Pavillion 8550 C with 500mhz
celeron chip and 384 mg ram and built in video. Any
ideas would be great. Either reply here or to

Sounds like a video driver issue. Try starting up in safe mode and
installing the latest XP compatible video drivers from your motherboard
manufacturer.
