Default Analogue video capture

Hi
I am a complete beginner so I expect I am doing something
really stupid, but I have captured some footage from an
anolog vcr to my hard disk with invervideo wincoder. When
I play it back the sound is out of sync with the video. Can
anyone tell me how to correct this please.

I tried to capture with moviemaker first but the picture
was jumping all over. Any ideas how to correct this? I am
using an svideo connector into the pc but when I change
the settings to svideo I just get a black and white
picture. I dont get anything if I connect to the composite
port. The only way I get a colour picture is with the lead
connected to svideo but set to composite.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Joyce
