Extended desktop not available for dual monitors

My boss has a Dell 8100 with a GeForce video adapter.
XP Pro is on the machine. He wishes to run dual monitors
and choose "extended desktop". This is not available in
the display properties... why?

The documentation I read prior to purchasing a second
monitor showed the option... is this an xp thing or a
video driver thing?

Probably a Video Driver thing....make sure you have the LATEST
drivers....then call Dell up! Those guys need to get a chance to EARN their
money!
