I have just acquired a new Gateway equipped with the
Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 (basic). When I try to make a music CD by placing saved files into the music CD project and press "record" the CD Tray opens up and that's all she wrote. ALso when trying to copy to CD in WMP 9.0 I get the message "insert a CD-R in CD drive and try again". Unsuccessful. I know I can record because I have already successfully recorded an ad for Music Match. What I am trying to record are samples. Help!! |

This may seem silly, but make sure its XP capable. Version 5 was not until
they issued a patch for it. You could also have a conflict if WMP CD burning Service is activated. Choose one burner or the other. To disactivate the XP burning Service : My Computer (right click) > Manage > Services and Applications (click on the +) > Services > Disable the IMAPI CD Burning COM Service. Close and re-boot. Me, I use Nero, Easy CD sucks - bad memories ! I also use Record Now Max. You can search for record now but I believe the site is www.stompsinc.com or www.stompinc.com |
