Default MEDIA PLAYER

A little while ago I had to reinstall Windows XP due to
another problem with the OS. WMP was running fine up
until about 2 weeks ago when it started garbling the
beginning of each song. The videos were fine, but the
audio files wound have a little distortion, like the speed
of the file was changing, but then it would be alright. I
reinstalled the drivers on my sound cards and did
everything else that I could, but to no avail. I believe
it is WMP's fault because I used Winamp and it played the
same files just fine. Help!

Default Re: MEDIA PLAYER

Is this for all files or just MP3-audio files?

If it's just for MP3 files, look for the 'ctmp3.acm' section here-
http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html#dsound
and that'll fix you up.

See http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
