Hi, i am basically wondering if anyone can help me decide whether or not to increase my memory. I have recently bought a alienware area-51 computer (purely for gamin) which can hold upto 4gb of memory. I am thinking of getting 2 x 1024 and 2 x 512 chips, putting my memory upto 3072mb. Is it worth it??? I have been told yes by some and no by some, any ideas would be great..... Thanx

Many of the latest chipsets for Intel based systems are starting to require DDR2 SDRAM. Shame on you Intel. ... AMD has yet to begin supporting DDR2, and for a good reason. In the past, DDR2 memory has been plagued with high latencies which reduced its performance below the cheaper and more available DDR DDR2 is supposed to be the successor to DDR. It will be in due time once the price drops down to the level of DDR ... and the performance exceeds that of DDR. __________________ I'm not grouchy by nature, it takes constant effort. Your sums don't add up ... but if you have 512, another 512 will help out XP ... any more would really just be a waste of good money.
