I recently had to reinstall XP Home. I then reinstalled Office XP Small
Business, and have been having a problem. Every time I open a component of Office, such as Word or Excel, I get a message box titled "Installing components for Microsoft Excel (or Word)". The box then shows a progress bar and the message "installing a Microsoft Excel Feature". This happens EVERY time I open one of the Office components. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Jeff |

If you select Custom, you find that many items are marked as "run on first use." I suspect that these are the settings "Typical" install uses. You may want to run Office setup again and select "Run from hard disk." -- Sharon F MS MVP - Windows Shell/User |
