hello

After a virus or something else, when i restarted a lot
of things do not work on my computer.
1)I could go to any web page and view it but i can not
log in to hotmail or any other web based email
2)my start up list is almost gone, all i have is sound,
but video card seems to be working fine and internet
3)I can not even enable my internet security, it tells me
that I have no rights, i am not the supervisor
..

#3 sounds like you still have damage from the virus or that a virus is
still active. #1 and #2 could be direct results of altered settings and
files that were damaged by the virus, removed by a repair tool but not
replaced yet.

Have you considered doing a repair install? Make sure your system is clean
first, then follow the steps outlined in this article:

NOTE: If you have an OEM CD that does not utilize the standard XP setup
program, follow the system manufacturer's directions for a Recovery or
Restore instead.
