Ray;
The tilde is a result of this patch: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie...994/default.asp The file is created when certain changes are made to your address book. The files can be safely deleted. A search of Google shows many having the same harmless but possibly annoying issue. My understanding is that Microsoft is aware of the issue. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] An easier way to read newsgroup messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...roups/setup.asp http://dts-l.org/index.html "Ray W." <dadx3@cox.net> wrote in message news:%23t%23sbGxWDHA.1640@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > I am recieving a non descript file that appears on my desktop... the icon is > white background with a windows looking icon in it. It's the backup of the Address Book that should have been named *.wa~ and placed in the same Windows folder as your *.wab Address Book file. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP Please respond in Newsgroup.
