Is there any way to get rid of the Documents folders in XP?
I have my own complicated files system with partitions etc. and HATE all the times I run into the Documents etc junk. And it *seems* as though many of my files are ending up in the Documents places whatever I do with them. Documents, My Music, My Pictures.... I have no use for them. Mason C |

Hi,
The documents folder is a part of XP and identifies the users for that pc and also segregates the documents on a user basis. So if u have that complicated files systems with partitions then better use that instead of the documents folder. regards M. You CAN right click and delete ANY folder including the My Documents folder.
BUT it does state when you try and delete it that you cannot delete it's contents. It's part and parcel of the XP architecture. |

The redirecting was done by using the Move button in My Documents properties sheets. Sharon F MS MVP [Windows XP - Shell/User] |
