Default How to prevent fxssvc.exe from running at Windows startup?

Hello
How to prevent fxssvc.exe from running at Windows startup? I want to stay
able to receive and send faxes manually. Other fax programs (VentaFax for
example) don't run any processes at Windows startup.
My OS is Windows XP Pro Sp1.

Turn off automatic reception.
Set the Startup type of the Fax Service to Manual.

Thanks for your reply.
The automatic reception has been turned off. Why does MS keep the fxssvc.exe
running at Windows startup, if the automatic reception is turned off?

I guess you'd have to ask them.

MS Fax has been modelled as a NT Service. It has been optimised to stop when
all the following conditions are met
Ř There is no valid device set for manual answering.

Ř There are no active RPC connections.

Ř There are no devices set to receive.

Ř There are no jobs in the job queue.

In case any of the conditions are not met, the Fax Service needs to run.

Thank you,
Manoj

Why does Microsoft need the Service to run all the time? Other fax programs
do not need any processes to run all the time, if faxes are received
manually.
