HP 7600 series

I have xp pro and cannot get printer to work, it has usb hook up and it recognizes it, loads the drivers and goes through the motions, but when trying to get to print test page, printer just sits there. Cannot print from any program. Old printer on LPT1 worked fine. Removed it with drivers, formated hard drive and re-installed, still nothing. Printer works fine on lap top with same operating system

Disconnect the printer from the PC.

Follow the instructions at
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm
to remove this and all previous printers.

Download a new set of drivers from the HP website ... closest I can find is
the 7660 printer...

Install the software. Do NOT reconnect the printer until the software tells
you to do so.
