Default Printer prints only 9/16" lines.

Have this problem for a while and have not been able to
solve it. Posted it on Hardware without any response, so
I'll try here.

Printer: Epson SC900 connected via 6' USB2 cable
Driver: downloaded Win2k driver from Epson.
OS: Win XP Home
System: Pent.4-2.4Ghz.

XP driver causes the printer to print only heavy lines
(9/16") in black or any color you designate. No letters,
or sometimes inside the black lines letters are visible in
reverse (blanc or white).
The Epson driver for win2k works butt only till I reboot
then XP installs their version and the problem starts
again. When I remove the XP driver 'SC900/P2' and re-
install the Epson 2K driver I can print again.
How can I prevent XP from re-installing the embebbed
driver for this printer?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Uninstall the printer..... using:
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm

After reboot, install the printer using the software from Epson...... do NOT
reconnect the printer until the software tells you to do so....
