Default "device is busy. try again later."

I get this error when trying to print:
"Printer not ready. Device is busy. Try again later."

I just formatted the drive, and put XP Pro in. It's a
Lexmark x63, and it's connected via USB. I can't seem to
get it to work, ever. I've tried everything. I called
lexmark THREE times. All three times, their tech had me
try the same things, over and over again - 2 hours total
in my time. NEVER WORKED! haha.

Finally, with the last guy, he said that I needed to
contact microsoft. stupid idiots. hhahahaha.

Anyway, anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I've
tried anything and everything I can think of regaurding
drivers and hardware things.

Use Bruce Sanderson's instructions to COMPLETELY uninstall the printer and
reinstall it..... It may have occurred if you have your printer connected
during the installation of XP.... it is normal practice to keep the printer
disconnected during an upgrade or clean install.... and then correctly
install it afterwards.

After you've cleaned everything, reboot the PC.

Download a new set of XP drivers from the Lexmark website and install the
software. Do NOT reconnect the printer until XP tells you to do so.

This from the Lexmark site:

Remove the USB cord and the power cord from the back of the printer, and then remove
the USB cord from the back of the computer.
Uninstall the printer/scanner software from the Program menu and restart the system.
Check the part number on the setup CD. If it is not P/N 13H0350, you need to download
the XP driver from the Lexmark web site, www.lexmark.com.
When the PC has restarted, log in as an administrator and insert the setup CD into
the CD-ROM drive
Click OK and Install now.
Follow the setup instructions to install the scanner software. When you see Connect
the USB Cable to the printer on the screen, first attach the power cord to the
printer, then attach the USB cord to the printer, and finally attach the USB cord to
the computer.
Follow the setup instructions on the screen to complete the printer software
installation.

You people realize that the uninstall/reinstall advice is all crap right? I have this printer, and have the busy error, when I unistall and reinstall it works for 1 print, maybe 2, then I get the error again. Lexmarks only offer for a solution is Uninstall/reinstall. Does anyone have a REAL solution for this problem, or do I need to drive by lexmark and throw my brand new/not functioning x63 through there window
