Why does XP install an auto printer driver when it finds
a printer on a network? Can't find any relative inforamtion explaining anything about it. |

Explorer has the ability to go out and make connections to all print and
file shares so you do not have to (and as in your case, do not want to). But you have the ability to disable this.
