Default Epson Stylus printer

After I replaced a new Black cartridge into my printer
the printer will not print in black. If I change the
text color to anything else it will.

Using the procedure given in your printer user manual, remove the black
cartridge from the carrier. Check to assure that you have removed the
plastic strip as instructed on the box/plastic envelope or in the leaflet in
the wrapper the cartridge came in. Also assure that in removing that strip
you did not also strip off the copper contact patches on the cartridge.
Replace the cartridge in the carrier. Assure that it is properly seated and
the cover snapped in place.

Try again.

Note that it might take a couple of runs to get the ink flowing properly.
Try the nozzle cleaning routine found in the driver settings.

If no joy, you might have to return that cartridge and get another.
