Default Test Page with XP and BJC-2000

Hi,

I am having a strange problem with installing a Canon BJC-
2000 on Windows XP Professional.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Canon on the web
but this does not solve the problem.

After installing the printer with the new drivers I cannot
print a test page getting the message that the "printing
test page failed. would you like to start the
troubleshooter etc" also I cannot print from any
application. Word says that the printer returned an error
and Outlook Express reports a bug in the script.

The strange thing is that this printer was fine till a few
days ago and it also still works fine when I connect it to
my old Win 95 PC.

Any help appreciated.

Regards
Philip

Try a complete uninstall and reinstall using the instructions at:

http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm

Ensure you don't skip Step 4. This is the most important one.

Please feel free to post back if the problem persists.

Hi,

Already tried that process since I looked at previous
messages before sending in my own.

Unfortunately this does not seem to change anything and it
still does not work.

At this point I'me stuck !!

Philip

Since it's a Canon, I'm presuming you're following their instructions and
installling the software before actually connecting the printer.. Canon
printers are particularly fussy about this.

After you install the software and it tells you to connect the cable, does
XP see the printer and install the drivers at the correct time?
