Default Network printer from Windows 98 to XP computer

Running a peer-to-peer network with two Windows 98 and
one Windows XP computers. HP Deskjet 3820 installed on
Windows XP computer. Printer is shared and drivers for
Windows 98 were loaded upon installation on Windows XP
computer. Cannot install HP Deskjet 3820 on either
Windows 98 computers. HP Deskjet on Windows XP computer
does not appear in Network Neighborhood or Add a Printer
selection box on either Windows 98 computers.

Default Re: Network printer from Windows 98 to XP computer

Can the 98 PCs 'see' the files and folders on the XP PC? Are the Users on
the 98 PCs added as Users on the XP PC? Is the ICF (internet connection
firewall) on the XP PC disabled. It's not designed to be used on a LAN. If
you need firewall protection and are on a network, use a third party product
like ZoneLabs' ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com).

I believe rather than a printing problem, you have a network configuration
problem.... take a look at Steve Winograd's article at
http://www.practicallynetworked.com...ng/xp/addxp.htm
