Default How to turn XP Pro fax on & off

Hi - I just installed the XP Pro fax console after installing a v.92 modem
to handle the faxes. I also have a fax machine connected to my phone line.
(I only have one phone line). This means the XP Pro fax program and the
physical fax machine are on the same phone line.

Question - Is there an on/off switch for the XP Pro fax program. In other
words I don't want it to automatically load when Windows XP Pro is running.
I want to be enable and disable the program as needed.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Joe

Why don't you just turn off automatic reception?

Sounds like a plan, only I can't find where to do that.

Go to Start | Programs | Accessories | Communications | Fax | Fax Console

Click on Tools | Configure Fax, uncheck "Automatic Receiving".

Btw, if you want to turn off fax, open cmd.exe from Start | Run and type
"net stop fax". To restart, type "net start fax".

Thanks,
Anand

Launch Fax Console [Start->All
Programs->Accessories->Communication->Fax->FaxConsole]. Go to
Tools->Configure Fax - this will launch a wizard. In the page where device
is selected for receiving faxes, unselect the device - then it will not
receive the faxes. This should solve your issue. You also have an option to
select manual answering over here.
