Printer problem

I am a networking administrator.
I have the following problem.
I have XP with a sequel database program running in the
background.With,another window\dialogue box that runs
inside of that sequel database window\dialogue.
The problem is that with the print preview,it will show
both dialogue boxes.After printing,it doesn't print both
dialogue boxes.It only shows a small box with a cross
going through the middle of it.
Printer HP 8000 PCL.

Does anyone have any suggestions?No idea where to start
looking.
I.e.Driver updates,registry tweaks.
