I am having the same problem myself. Every time I boot
the PC, XP says it found a new printer which no matter what I do, it can't install it. >-----Original Message----- > >>-----Original Message----- >>Interesting. What printer model is it claiming to find ? >How can you tell >>it's a printer and not some other device class ? >>Can you take a look at the %windir%\setupapi.log and >post the last events >>here ? > >Sure. Here they are: >------------------------------------------------------- >[2003/06/19 16:55:58 856.312 Driver Install] >#-019 Searching for hardware ID(s): *pcouffin >#-198 Command line processed: D:\WINNT\System32 >\svchost.exe -k netsvcs >#I063 Selected driver installs from section >[Pcouffin_DDI] in "d:\winnt\inf\oem31.inf". >#I320 Class GUID of device remains: {FF646F80-8DEF-11D2- >9449-00105A075F6B}. >#I060 Set selected driver. >#-124 Doing copy-only install of "ROOT\PCOUFFIN\0000". >#E256 SetupCloseFileQueue called while queue is in use >(locked). >------------------------------------------------------- > >I did nothing new when it appeared. I mean I turned on >the comp (I didn't install any software or hardware >before that boot) and I saw this massage. And since then >(2-3 weaks ago) it happens every boot, as I already said. > ![]() >. > |
