Take a look at your network properties and see if you have an IR
communications adapter installed, and what protocols are bound to it.
Check the user manual for the printer and see what it says is required.
Also, check the printer properties, ports tab and see what port is
assigned to the printer port. It should be Virtual Infrared
Communications port, I believe. If it is not set to an IR port, then
reset it to one if it is available. Check the printer docs and make
sure that you have the correct port speed also. This is set in the IR
control panel AIRC.
