Default Intel P4 or Zeon?

Hi I am about to order the kit for my new PC. I intend to use it mainly for audio applications, hence processor power is a key factor. However, noise (usually from cooling fans) is also to be kept to a minimum.

Basically do I go for a Intel P4 2GHz or the Intel P4 Zeon 2GHz? They seem to be about the same price. I was quite happy planning to get a P4, until someone mentioned that Zeons will be the top dog in a few months time.

I have heard that the Zeon makes more noise, but I think I can reduce this enough with coolers from quietpc.com.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Many thanks!!

... and in a few months time we'll have a new "top dog" ... :P

Basically you can wait forever for the "latest, fastest, newest, and more this-n-that till the cows come home ... and never build a system.

Go for the best you can afford NOW and upgrade, if you made the right choice, in 18 months time.

There is a lot of new stuff always around the corner.
