Has the scanner ever worked correctly with Windows XP?
Was Windows XP a clean install or an upgrade over Win9X?

There's an XP patch for the 2100U at the UMAX site
that's dated: 02-14-2002...I don't know if you need it or not,
but if WinXP was an upgrade, you probably do.
