Default DISABLED Conflicting Applications -- how do I enable?!

Hiya, kids.

I recently made a little mistake, it seems. Here's
the quick dish:

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition.

I had Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 installed on my computer.

I installed Adaptec DirectCD on top of that.

I *believe* the drivers for Adaptec were out of date (made
for 98 or something) and caused BOTH Roxio and Adaptec to
be disabled by the computer. It also disabled my CD-RW
drive.

After removing Adaptec and Roxio, uninstalling both CD-ROM
drives, I rebooted and the Plug n Play manager reinstalled
my CD-ROM drives. (keeping in mind I've removed Roxio &
Adaptec)

Both drives now have two yellow exclamation points next to
them in the device manager and I can't use either one
because the application is still suspending a driver
because it's "possibly unstable".

Ideas? Solutions? Muchly appreciated...

Thanks!
