Default Yamaha AC-XG driver

I have a year-old Sony Vaio laptop which came with
Windows XP already installed.

When Windows automatically updated my system last month
with the SPI service pack, it disabled my driver for
sound (which had come with the computer.) Now I have no
sound.

When I open the Yamaha icon in the control panel, it's
empty.

When I start my computer each time, I receive the
following message: "Yamaha AC-XG WDM Audio Device will
cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented
these drivers from being loaded"

I have looked on the Microsoft support website. They
acknowledge there is a problem, but offer no solution.
The Sony support site offers no information.

What do I need to do to restore my sound? I'd greatly
appreciate any help.

Default Re: Yamaha AC-XG driver

Go back to the Sony website and download and install their updated driver
for your onboard sound.
